Visiting Instructors for Summer 2008!! Kaleb Baker: Kaleb is a highly talented dancer with extensive experience and training. Kaleb will be joining the Quad City Ballet Company in Rock Island, IL as a Company member in the fall of 2008.He has just completed three years in the graduate program with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre performing in Alice in Wonderland (April 2008), San Cho Pansa in Don Quiote (October 2007), also Peter Pan and four Nutcrackers at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh, PA and touring. Kaleb joined Cincinnati Ballet in January 2008 as a Supplemental Dancer in Romeo and Juliet as Lord Montague. Kaleb as been guest performing with Pre-Professional Companies since 2003 in Maryland, New York, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Also, trained with Turning Pointe School of Dance, San Francisco Ballet, Harid Conservatory, Universal Ballet Academy and Central Pro Danza in Cuba. Dance Awards from, National American Youth Grand Prix Scholarship, Chicago Pas De Deux with Laura Irion for 2 nd place win, and Male Contemporary 2 nd place, and Carey Rose Winski Foundation Scholarship. Has taught Boys classes at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Creative Movement at Turning Pointe School of Dance and as an assistant in Creative Movement with Canton Ballet. Kaleb is also trained in Jazz, Modern: Ailey, Cunningham, and Graham, Russian Character, Flamenco, Spanish Character, Pantomine, Technical and Musical Theatre. Valery Lantratov: Artistic Director, Russian National Ballet Foundation.Valery has had a distinquished career as a dancer in the companies of Vladimir Vasiliev, Maya Plitsetskaya and Ekaterina Maximova and international tours with Rudolf Nureyev. Most recently he has made international headlines for his role as Czar Nicholas II in a production of the new ballet Rasputin, with Farouk Ruzimatov of the Marinsky Theatre (Kirov). It premiered in St. Petersburg, Russia. A Gradurated of the Moscow Academic Choreographic College, Lantratov was selected as a first soloist with the Moscow Stanislavski Ballet. With the theater he danced principal roles in such ballets as Don Quizote, Copellia and Romeo and Juliet. He has received accolades in the Russian and international press for his strong technique, personality and expressiveness. In 1993, Lantratov began working for the Kemlin Ballet. This same year he formed the Russian National Ballet Foundation. He has toured as a soloist guest artist in countries as Japan, Germany, Italy, Greece, France, Portugal, Spain and the United States.The Russian National Ballet Foundation has toured Europe, Asia, The Middle East and the United States. In 1997, Russian president Boris Yelstin named Valery Lantroatov "People's Artist of Russia," the Russian Federation's highest artistic honor. Mr. Lantroatov hold a teacheing certicficated from Russia's renowned National Academy of Theatrical Arts - GITIS. For three years Mr. Lantroatov serves a a guest instructor at Boston Ballet, MA USA. With his Russian National Ballet Foundation, Lantratov is able to realize his goal of introducing new audience throughout the world to some othe finest classical works of Russia. Valery believes, " No matter what might happen between the countries in the world, dance can deliver peace, compassion and art - enteral values." Jessica Mamula: Jessica found her calling when she started dancing at age three. She's trained in numerous styles including baton, jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, pom pon, and hip hop. Jessica spent time training at New York City's Broadway Dance Center. She is excited to share her baton experience with the students at the Turning Pointe. Jessica has been twirling for 14 years and has won numerous state and regional titles, some including: bronze medal from the World Baton Twirling Championship in Marseille, France, bronze medal in solo baton and silver medal in strut and twirling corp from the World Baton Twirling Championship in Eindhoven, Holland, and last July she placed 3rd in the Teenage Miss Majorette of America Pagent. Jessica is a student at the University of Louisville and has the privilege to be a Fleur de Lis Feature Twirler for the University of Louisville Marching Band. This past April, the band appeared on the nationally televised Extreme Home Makeover where a home was built for a member of the marching band who is blind and disabled. She was able to perform this past year at the Ryder's Cup in Louisville as well as the prestigious Kentucky Derby, where the band performs every year. Jessica continues to compete in baton twirling and this summer will work towards qualifying at the National Championship for the next World Competition to be held in Belgium in 2009.
